Peersome is a tech-platform connecting you to local vendors in Bangalore who provide self-drive cars on rent. You can book your vehicle through the website and app (coming soon!) for short term & long term car rentals.
What type of vehicles does Peersome offer?
Peersome connects you to vendors who offer a wide range of hatchbacks, sedans and SUVs in Bangalore.
How can I become an approved Peersome member?
Create your account on Peersome and upload your documents. When you place your first booking, your documents will be verified and a green tick will appear next to your name post verification. The green tick signifies an approved member and facilitates vendors to approve your booking request on priority.
What are the documents required to be uploaded so as to become an approved member?
Please upload your Driver’s License, Govt. ID Proof and employee ID proof. In case you are self-employed, please upload any valid proof of your employment.
How long does it take to become an approved member?
You can upload your documents any time after creating an account with Peersome. Your account will be verified within 4 business hours of you placing your first booking. This is a one-time activity and once verified, you will remain an approved member for Peersome. In case of any delays, you may write to us at email@example.com.
How old do I need to be to use Peersome?
As far as you have a Driver's License and the rest of the documents you are eligible to rent a car from Peersome.
Is Peersome 24x7?
Yes, we are available 24x7 to answer your queries. However, pickup and delivery of the vehicle can only be done between 6:00 AM – 11:59 PM
How do I make a booking?
Browse through the range of cars being offered by various vendors on our website based on your preference of location, price and place a booking. Once your booking is confirmed, you just carry the payment in cash/card to the vendor’s location at the time of pickup. Your confirmation SMS or email hold as proof of your booking which will need to be provided to the vendor at the time of handing over the vehicle. How much in advance do I need to make my booking?
You can book your car immediately on our website as long as it is available. However, unless unavoidable, we advise you to book in advance to ensure assured availability and a smoother experience.
Can I modify my booking or extend my reservation?
You can request to modify your booking by calling us. However, the approval of your request entirely depends on availability. Extension or modification may cost you an additional amount. Please refer to the Booking Modification & Cancellation policy for more details.
How do I cancel my reservation?
You can cancel your booking on our website. Just log in to your account, go to My Bookings, and cancel it. There might be an additional charge for booking cancellations. Please refer to the Booking Modification & Cancellation Policy for more details.
Can I book for any period of time?
The minimum booking hours are 4 hours on weekdays for certain vendors, and your booking charges will be calculated accordingly. On weekends, we accept only whole day bookings. However, if you happen to require the vehicle for < 24 hours, you may return the vehicle as per your convenience but the minimum booking amount will be considered as 1 – day’s rent.
Can I book a one-way trip?
No, you will have to drop off the vehicle at the same point of pickup.
What modes of payment are accepted?
The accepted modes of payment vary based on the vendor you have booked with. The refundable security deposit amount will alone be collected on the website. The remaining amount needs to be paid to the vendor itself at the time of pickup of the vehicle.
What documents do I need to carry when I go to collect the car?
Only you original driver’s license is required to be carried while collecting the car.
When will the security deposit be refunded?
Your security deposit will be refunded within 4-5 business days of return of the vehicle, post proper inspection and reconciliation by the vendor.
Does the car come with a driver?
No, Peersome only connects you to vendors who offer self-drive cars. However, you can hire a driver for your trip provided he is an approved Peersome member.
What features does the car come with?
Please contact us on +91 9740999019 to enquire on features of desired car. If requested prior to the booking, Peersome will also try to include any specific feature you desire in the car you have booked.
What is weekend/peak time pricing? Are the prices different during weekends/peak times?
Tariffs are different for Mon-Thu, Fri-Sun, and peak season. Please go through the details mentioned under each car to identify possible surcharges.
Is the fuel included in the costs?
No, all the costs are excluding fuel expenses. You will be given an initial amount of fuel which will be sufficient to go to the nearest petrol pump. Post that, till the end of the trip, you will need to fill the fuel required. In case you return the vehicle with more fuel that was initially given to you, we do not ensure a refund as it is impossible to measure the quantity and estimate the refund amount. Hence, please fill only as much fuel as you would require based on the mileage of the vehicle. You can request for details of mileage from the vendor or take an estimate of the cost from the fuel calculator on our website, before checkout. In case the vehicle is given to you in full tank filled condition, you will need to return it back in the same manner.
Is there a speed limit?
Yes, there is a speed limit of 115 kmph. In case you cross the speed limit, a penalty of Rs 300 is collected for each time the limit is crossed.
Is there a kilometer limit per day?
Yes, the number of kilometers allowed per day vary from vendor to vendor, usually in the range of 250 km – Unlimited km. Please go through the vehicle description to know the allowed kilometers. There is an additional km charge for an excess kilometers driven.
Why is there a kilometer limit when you are not providing the fuel?
Keeping in mind the maintenance involved with the vehicle, there is a kilometer restriction set down by the vendors for vehicles. Driving additional kilometers requires additional maintenance cost.
Do I have to return the vehicle at the same point of pickup?
Yes, you will have to return the vehicle to the vendor at the same location of pickup.
Can I take the car early?
No, you will have to request to modify your booking and reschedule. Rescheduling might cost you an additional fee. Please refer to our Fee Policy for complete details.
Can someone else drive the car during my reservation?
Yes, provided the other member is also an approved member at Peersome.
Can I take a pet along?
No, pets are not allowed in cars.
What if I leave something in the car?
Peersome is not responsible for your belongings. We advise you to take proper care of the same. We will however try our best to help you out in case you forget something in the car by contacting the car owner.
What happens if I return the car late?
A penalty fee is charged for late return of the car. The amount charged varies from vehicle to vehicle. Please refer to Booking Modification & Cancellation Policy of vendors for more details.
What happens if someone else returns the car late and my booking period has begun?
We will try our best to provide an alternative option of a car based on your requirement. However, this is subject to availability. We generally do provide a set of other options in such cases, however in the rare scenario that we are unable to do so, the entire booking amount will be refunded to you.
Will my charge by reduced if I return the vehicle early?
No, the charges are calculated as per booked timings only.
What do I do if I meet with an accident?
Immediately notify your car vendor in the event of an accident and they will guide you through the entire process. Peersome does not hold any responsibility for this and this needs to be directly coordinated with the vendor you have taken the car from. We will however try our best to help you reach out to the vendor but are not liable to do so.
What do I do if the vehicle breaks down?
Please notify the vendor immediately in such a scenario. Peersome does not hold any responsibility for this and this needs to be directly coordinated with the vendor you have taken the car from. We will however try our best to help you reach out to the vendor but are not liable to do so.
What is the insurance coverage?
The insurance coverage is vendor-specific. Please choose the car you wish to book and go through the terms and conditions during checkout before confirming your booking.
Who will be responsible for parking, moving and traffic violations?
The user is solely responsible for all parking charges and for any fines during the trip.
What documents will I have to show at the state border RTO office after crossing a state border?
You will have to show copies of the Registration certificate, Insurance certificate, Self Drive License, and the Multi State permit or All India Permit as applicable. It is your responsibility to ensure the driver hands over copies of these documents to you while picking up the vehicle.
How much money do I have to pay at a State border crossing to obtain permit and enter the state legally?
Prices depend on the vehicle you are driving and the duration you are requesting the permit for. We do not reimburse for these charges.
